As a charitable organization of Stevensville, KIDS-WIN, INC focuses on educating children and parents/guardians on preparation for school and life by reading. KIDS-WIN, INC has developed a new and exciting way to help young children learn in a fun and interactive way. Coloring Stories is a creative program that allows children to begin understanding the basics, such as colors, numbers, words and life lessons that can shape their future. The overall goals of KIDS-WIN is to: prepare children to be “reading ready” when they enter school, place more books in more homes, encourage more reading at home, encourage family conversations about valuable life lessons and promote good parenting.
The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation awarded KIDS-WIN, INC with a $5,000 gift. The funds will pay for the printing of over 1,000 copies each for 5 different coloring stories. By teaming up with the Stevensville Community Foundation who provided a $2,500 donation and the Rapp Family Foundation who provided a $1,000 donation, The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation is helping color a bright future for young children in Stevensville.
In the future, KIDS-WIN, INC plans to offer color stories statewide and eventually nationwide.
