Montana Special Olympics

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation will continue its support of Montana Special Olympics in 2011, marking a twenty-one year partnership with the program.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and their community.

Special Olympics Montana offers training and competition opportunities in a variety of summer and winter sports including gymnastics, basketball, equestrian competition, snow-boarding, as well as alpine and cross-country skiing. The State Winter Games are held in Whitefish during February or March and State Summer Games in Bozeman during mid-May.
