Forming a Partnership

The Foundation encourages groups that share common ideals to form partnerships and work together toward a unified goal. Bringing these groups together to build upon one another's ideas maximizes the ultimate benefit to more people. We also help direct underdeveloped organizations in which we see potential to utilize funding in the most effective ways.

In the review process, we may find several organizations with similar requests for funding. After carefully analyzing their individual purposes, we may offer ways for these organizations to join forces and utilize combined funding more efficiently and effectively toward a singular goal with greater reach.

"Youth Homes Inc. (located in Western Montana) has been able to, thanks to a Washington Foundation Grant, extend our partnership with Youth Dynamics (located east of the continental divide in Montana). This partnership provides group home treatment, foster care, adoption and family support services throughout Montana, from Missoula to Glendive, and to over 700 children and their families each day. The Washington Grant provides the marvelous opportunity to give a large number of these children with opportunities for recreation, sports, culture and the very best of Montana to help them heal, grow and develop."

- Geoffrey L. Birnbaum,
Executive Director, Youth Homes
