5.27.08 | Employees share their special experience
The trek to the 2008 Montana Special Olympics was yet another successful and rewarding experience. This was the first year employee volunteers stayed overnight in Great Falls for the games. For Washington Corporation's Jen Allen this was her first year volunteering. "My favorite part was when one of the athletes told me she had a bad foot. I told her to do the best she could and she said okay," said Allen.
MRL's Jean Laber also attended the event. This is her fourth year of volunteering for the Montana Special Olympics and her commitment to the event has now become a yearly tradition. "If every athlete could watch Special Olympians, there would be much better sportsmanship in the world," said Laber. Relays were her favorite event because everyone had to work together. Allen enjoyed the 200-meter because the athletes worked so hard and no one ever gave up. This year, both Allen and Laber served as escorts for the athletes. Thanks to all the Washington Companies Employees who volunteered!
