Mariah’s Challenge, the Butte, Montana non-profit organization dedicated to fighting underage drinking and driving under the influence, received a $10,000 Challenge Grant from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation.
The grant is to help fund the scholarships of area seniors applying for and receiving the 2014 Mariah’s Challenge Scholarship.
Mariah’s Challenge is a scholarship program to fight underage drinking and driving under the influence. The foundation began after Mariah McCarthy was hit and killed by an underage drunk driver in 2007.
The program has since awarded $195,000 in scholarships to Butte area seniors and has been featured on several media platforms.
