Dennis and Phyllis Washington Native American Graduate Fellowship

Scholarship Recipients Will Receive a $10,000 Fellowship

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has created the only Native American Graduate Scholarship at Montana State University and the University of Montana. Inquiries should be made to the graduate school admissions office at Montana State University and the University of Montana.

The Scholarship upholds Dennis Washington’s long time vision of promoting the betterment of society and the development of a highly diverse workforce through education.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be accepted to a Master’s or Doctoral degree program at Montana State University or University of Montana (no professional degrees such as law, business, or pharmacy may apply)
  • Have a baccalaureate degree from a four-year regionally accredited institution of higher learning anywhere in the U.S. and have graduated with at least a 2.5 undergraduate cumulative GPA
  • Be enrolled at full-time status
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a Montana resident
  • Be an enrolled member of a Montana tribe
  • Be a U.S. citizen
