The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation is the primary charitable organization of The Washington Companies. It is funded primarily through personal contributions by the Washington Family and annual contributions by the Montana-based Washington Companies. “The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation” is the correct first reference, in subsequent reference “the Foundation” may be used. It is not correct to use “the Washington Foundation.”

The Washington Companies is a general inclusive term referring to the association of separate business entities in which Montana businessman Dennis R. Washington holds a significant ownership position. The Washington Companies are headquartered throughout the United States and western Canada and conduct business internationally. The Washington Companies are involved in rail transportation, marine transportation, environmental remediation and restoration, civil construction, mining, heavy equipment sales and service, aviation technology, commercial real estate, and business services.
